Several years ago, Brad Yochum, founder and CEO of Focus for Nonprofits, volunteered with the Make-A-Wish Foundation as they gave critically-ill children the gift of a once-in-a-lifetime memory. Brad still remembers the happiness that radiated from the children’s faces when they received their wish. While Brad was volunteering with Make-A-Wish, he met Keane Veran, a young boy dealing with leukemia. In 2011, Keane received his special wish–a trip with his family to the White House to visit President Obama. In 2017, he was officially declared cancer-free. Click here to read more of Keane’s story.
The Focus for Nonprofits family wants to let children know their most incredible moment in their life can come true, if they wish for it! Supporting Make A Wish Foundations helps achieve those goals. Through the “Giving Back” program, Focus for Nonprofits contributes an annual amount to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in order to fulfill children’s wishes.
Focus for Nonprofit is proud to be a part of making another child's wish come true. Ethan Yochum, son of Focus for Nonprofits founder Brad Yochum, was recently honored for his work with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. During his junior year at El Dorado High School, a school-wide service project brought together the EDHS ASB, students, and staff to raise over $8,000 to fully grant 14-year-old Emmanuel's wish!
Suffering from sickle cell disease, Emmanuel's wish was to have a new computer so he could pursue his dream of becoming a digital animator. Thanks to Ethan and El Dorado High School, he now has a new computer and digital art software to start his future in animation design - as well as do homework and learn about the stock market!
Through our continued efforts to help guide the next group of leaders, Focus for Nonprofits has mentored and advised El Dorado High School Make A Wish Presidents to help raise over $50,000.00.
